The North West Fraud Forum invites all its members to attend the next in its series of evening Masterclasses. The aim of these sessions is to raise the awareness of our members to current fraud issues and provide a forum for members to meet and discuss relevant issues.
This next session focuses on addressing Long Firm Fraud, case work examples will be used to highlight investigative best practise and provide general fraud protection advice.
We are delighted to announce that our speakers for the evening will be Julian King, a Detective Constable of Greater Manchester Police Commercial Fraud Unit and Alex Deane, Investigation Supervisor with the Department for Business Enterprise and Regulatory Reform.
Julian has been responsible for the investigation of serious and complex criminal fraud cases since 2000. As an investigator within the Commercial Fraud Unit he has worked on a wide variety of cases including national and international enquiries. Since 2002 he has also worked on three Serious Fraud Office cases. In 2001 Julian passed the National Fraud Course and in 2006 obtained a Masters Degree in Fraud Management.
Alex has been involved in the investigation of companies for twenty-six years and has given evidence in some of the departments biggest fraud trials. He spent one year with the Serious Fraud Office before obtaining his Masters degree in Fraud Management in 2005. In 2007 he was invited by the South African government to train their company investigators.
The presentations will be followed by an open session to allow members to discuss any other issues of relevance to them.
Members may if they wish invite guests to the event, but the names and email address of any guests must be provided to the NWFF in advance of attending. It is the responsibility of Members to ensure that any guests are suitable invitees and each guest can only attend one Masterclass as a guest before they will be asked to become members of the North West Fraud Forum.

Note to all members: The Steering Committee is conscious of the wide geographical spread of the members and we aim to hold the Masterclasses at a range of locations throughout the North West so as to ensure that as many members can attend as many events as possible.
