The North West Fraud Forum is pleased to announce our forthcoming conference to be held on 11 February 2010 when we will explore the issues of Identity Fraud and how this impacts upon business and individuals within the North West.

Our presenters and their topics include:

  • Rosie Cooper, MP for West Lancashire - a perspective on the impact of identity theft on members of the public
  • Dr Bernard Herdan, Chief Executive of the National Fraud Authority - a high level update on the progress made in delivering a national fraud strategy, and key deliverables for 2010
  • Detective Superintendent Clarke from the City of London Police - an update on success in implementing “Action Fraud”
  • Sara Marshall, Director of Identity Rights, Identity & Passport Service - an outline of the steps the Passport Service are taking to reduce identity fraud
  • Keith Jones & Matthew Neilson, Royal Mail - An innovative presentation from the Royal Mail will pose the question of whether the mail is a crime and environment champion, and how it could be a secret weapon in fighting fraud and identity theft
  • Julian King, Greater Manchester Police & Alex Deane, Companies Investigation Branch - a talk about the reality of the crime and ways that business can protect itself

There will also be an interactive session where questions will be invited from delegates with an opportunity to engage in discussion about what further activities in the region can help to combat fraud.

There will be no charge for Members of the North West Fraud Forum to attend this event and lunch and refreshments will be provided during the day. Non-members are welcome to join us at the event for a small charge of £60 plus VAT.

Further details will be available shortly but if you would like to book a place at this event, please email us at info@northwestfraudforum.co.uk.

  • All delegate details to be registered for NWFF communications
  • NWFF to view & agree material / presentation in advance
  • A Steering Group member will attend to open & promote NWFF
  • There must be tangible outputs that delegates can implement within their business and not merely be a marketing platform
